The Rowlands

The Rowlands are a six-piece Tulsa band rooted in the spirit, excellence, and resilience of Black Wall Street. Our name honors Dick Rowland, the young Black man whose arrest became a flashpoint in the events leading  to the infamous 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, tying our identity to the history inseparable from the city we call home.

A live musical extension of Steph Simon, The Rowlands bring the improvisation, dynamics, and energy that elevate his live performances while still maintaining our own individual flair. Influenced by gospel, jazz, hip-hop, and soul, we are a true testament to the magic that can happen when six unique personalities come together to make music.

Our sound is unmatched.

Our groove is intentional.

And our energy MUST be experienced.

Built Together. Built Different.

Everything is us!

New music is coming soon. In the meantime, check out the latest tracks, grab a ticket to an upcoming show, or sign up to the mailing list to hear things first.
